My Approach

In my sessions, I draw upon a range of evidence based psychological therapies. These include:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

  • Compassion Focussed Therapy

  • Metacognitive Therapy

  • Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy

In tailoring therapy to meet the needs of the individual, I utilise a broad range of techniques. As well as equipping people with coping strategies to manage their distress, I also help people to build a good awareness of their problems and their own psychology. I also encourage clients to do as much as they can away from sessions since this is where the real progress is made. Building resilience and helping people to move forward with their lives is the focus of my therapy.

Telehealth Therapy

My sessions are via Telehealth. This means that that I can see clients from all over Australia, even though I am based in rural Far North Queensland. It also allows you to have sessions from the comfort of your own home All that you need is access to a computer or smartphone and the rest is easy. Research shows that Telehealth provides the same benefits as in-person sessions.

Sessions run for around 50 minutes and can be weekly or fortnightly. I offer appointments Monday to Thursday, with flexible appointment times, including evenings.
